OpenSciEd Instructional Materials

OpenSciEd was launched to improve the supply of and address the demand for high-quality, open-source, full course science instructional materials. The goals of OpenSciEd are to ensure any science teacher, anywhere, can access and download freely available, high quality, locally adaptable materials.

Q: How many students are the kits good for?​

All consumable kits are intended to serve six classes comprised of 30 students each. You will need only one non-consumable kit per teacher. 

Q: What is the difference between consumable and non-consumable kits?​

Consumable items are materials that are used up during the lesson. Non-consumable materials can be reused multiple times. We've split the materials for each OpenSciEd unit so educators have the most flexibility when it comes to restocking their classrooms. 

Q: What is included in the kits?​
